"Our protagonists are under extreme stress. When the human body is stressed peripheral functions narrow or shut down. Other senses become more acute. Here our characters’ sight becomes curtailed, as they experience tunnel vision with occasional flashes of intense focus. This effect will be achieved using extremely shallow depth of field and tilt-shift lenses/plug-ins. Isolating the characters in this way will point to their exposure and vulnerability. Lighting will make large use of chiaroscuro, to intensify a sense of fear of the unknown, or of what’s hidden. The colour palette is earthy and dark, with no bright or pastel colours. The pale faces of the two protagonists stand out from the dark in all their fear. "
